К сожалению, в сложившейся ситуации нам не удалось осуществить все наши планы: наши партнеры из США и Швеции, которых мы очень ждали, не смогли приехать, мы не могли провести запланированные встречи и презентации.

Но все же мы сумели представить нашу передвижную выставку в Краеведческом музее города Приморска (Ленинградская обл.)

Директор музея Ирина Николаевна Колотова — наш давний партнер. Уже дважды выставка была показана (в разных форматах) в стенах музея. И в этот раз, благодаря энтузиазму и личному участию Ирины Николаевны и ее сотрудников, удалось смонтировать экспозицию в ограниченном пространстве музея. С соблюдением всех мер предосторожности музей посещают жители и гости Приморска, и мы уже получаем отзывы от них. Мы очень рады, что смогли осуществить эти планы именно в 2020 году — году столетия с того дня, когда колонисты сошли с борта «Йомей Мару» в порту Койвисто (сейчас Приморск) и отправились в место последнего расположения колонии — в поселок Халила, где им предстояло прожить еще несколько месяцев. Наша выставка посвящена 100-летию этого события.

Еще весной, когда музеи и библиотеки начали широко использовать возможности интернета, по инициативе заведующей мемориальной библиотекой князя Г. В. Галицина Елены Васильевны Конюховой на странице библиотеки в социальной сети ВКонтакте появился небольшой сюжет, посвященный книге Джейн Сван «Потерянные дети» (Jane Swan. «The Lost Children. Russian Odyssey»)

Координатор проекта Екатерина Георгиевна Удалова опубликовала на интернет-ресурсе Binoklium главу из своей будущей книги, в которой она рассказывает в том числе об истории колонистов, среди которых были ее родные. Эта глава посвящена событиям столетней давности, но разговор о них оказался очень актуальным, ведь они тоже связаны с пандемией — эпидемией так называемой «испанки», охватившей весь мир.

На страницах Binoklium в этом году появилось также продолжение статьи Ольги Ивановны Молкиной «Маршрут спасения — вокруг света» и 

Заведующая Детской библиотекой истории и культуры Петербурга и координатор Международного проекта и выставки «Над нами Красный Крест» Мира Львовна Васюкова проделала огромную работу и описала все основные события, организованные Сообществом и библиотекой совместно с друзьями и партнерами проекта за период с 2005 по 2020 год (PDF).

Мы продолжаем общение с нашими партнерами в США, Швеции и Японии. Наши японские партнеры в этом году выпустили новый видеофильм, посвященный одиссее петроградских детей и роли Японии в их спасении. Наши партнеры в США продолжают работу над публикацией воспоминаний капитана Каяхара на английском языке.

Мы поддерживаем связь с потомками и родственниками колонистов, живущими в разных городах и странах.

Мы сотрудничаем с заинтересованными людьми — кинематографистами, журналистами, которые работают над новыми интересными проектами, посвященными 100-летию окончания одиссеи детей Петрограда, которое мы будем отмечать в январе 2021 года. Именно в январе 1921 года последняя группа колонистов пересекла финско-советскую границу и вернулась на Финляндский вокзал, на котором все начиналось в мае 1918 года.

На нашем сайте продолжают появляться новости — к сожалению, иногда печальные: в этом году ушел человек, которого многие колонисты, а вслед за ними и их потомки называли бескорыстным рыцарем этой истории. Не стало писателя, журналиста и друга колонистов Владимира Абрамовича Купермана (Липовецкого). Но мы продолжаем дело, которому он посвятил многие годы своей жизни и огромную часть своей души.

Мы надеемся, что новый, 2021 год принесет нам добрые вести и изменения ситуации к лучшему.

На этот раз мы снова столкнулись с тем, что только всем миром можно добиться каких-то успехов.

Пусть этот год будет более добрым для всех нас.

Желаем всем оставаться здоровыми и в самых трудных условиях находить новые возможности для творчества, самореализации и сохранения памяти.

Unfortunately, due to pandemics we were not able to fulfill all our plans. Our partners from the USA, Japan and Sweden, whom we expected to come, had to cancel their visits to Russia. We could not organize the preplanned events.

But still we managed to present our traveling exhibition Under the Sign of the Red Cross in the Museum of local history in the town of Primorsk (Leningrad region)

The director of the Museum Irina Koloyova is our long time partner. Our exhibition was shown in the museum (in different formats) twice in the previous years. And this time due to enthusiasm and participation of Ms. Kolotova and her colleagues we managed to mount the exhibition and it is being visited by the citizens and guests of the town — of course with observation of all sanitary rules and standards. We have already started to receive comments of the visitors.

We are very happy that we could open the exhibition particularly this year, because 2020 is the year of centenary of the final stage of the children’s odyssey. It was in October 1920 that the colonists said good bye to the crew of Yomey Maru and to captain Kayakhara and stepped on the Finnish land in port of Koivisto (now it is called Primorsk). From here they went to Halila — the last point on their long way where they were to spend several months more. Our exhibition in Primorsk is devoted to this event.

In spring 2020, when all the museums and libraries of Petersburg began using the advantages of the Internet, the head of the Memorial library of prince G. Galitsyn Elena V. Konyukhova initiated making and publishing a short video-story about the book of Jane Swan The Lost Children. Russian Odyssey which is available in the library.

Coordinator of the International project Under the Sign of the Red Cross Ekaterina G. Udalova published a chapter from her future book about her family (many pages of which are also devoted to the odyssey of the colonists, among whom there were her own relatives) in the popular internet-resource Binoklium. This chapter is connected with the events of a century ago, but they are very actual today because they are connected with another pandemics — that of Spanish influenza.

This year on the pages of Binoklium there was also published the continuation of the article by Olga I. Molkina The Rescue Rout — around the World

The head of the Children’s library of history and culture of Petersburg and coordinator of the project Under the Sign of the Red Cross Mira L. Vasyukova performed a great work of making a summary of all the important events organized by the Society of the descendants of the participants of the events together with the friends and partners of the project during the period of 2005-2020 (PDF).

We keep contacts with our partners from the USA, Sweden, Japan and other countries. Our Japanese partners worked very successfully in 2020 — they released a video devoted to the role of Japan in the rescue of Petrograd children. Our partners in the USA keep working on publication of reminiscences of captain Kayakhara in English language.

We also communicate with the descendants of the colonists who live in different cities and countries.

We cooperate with the people who show sincere interest in the research of the events connected with the odyssey of the colonists — film-makers and journalists are working on very interesting projects devoted to centenary of the final stage of the round-the-world-trip of Petrograd children which we are going to celebrate in January 2021. It was just in January 1921 that the last group of colonists crossed the Finnish-Soviet border and returned to the Finland railway station where their odyssey had started in May 1918.

Our website is being regularly updated with the news — unfortunately sometimes very sad. In 2020 passed away the man whom many colonists and their descendants called the altruistic knight of this story. His name is Vladimir Kuperman (pen name Lipovetsky). But we continue the work to which he dedicated many years of his life and a big part of his soul.

We hope that the coming year will bring us some good news and changes of the situation to the better.

This time we again faced the fact that it is only all together we can achieve some success.

May this year be kinder for all of us.
